First Aid Training

Associated Trainers can provide the following first aid courses:

  • Emergency First Aid at Work - EFAW - 1 day course - covers primary care
  • First Aid at Work- FAW - 3 day course - covers primary and secondary care
  • First Aid at Work- FAW - 2 day for requalification

Emergency First Aid at Work Course (EFAW)

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed to train individuals and company staff that require approved first aid at work training to meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (1981) Regulations. This EFAW course holds a Level 3 certification and will provide all the required first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

The initial course is delivered over a minimum of 1 day (6 contact hours) This course also meets the first aid requirements of the Department for Children, Schools and Families for First Aid in Schools.

First Aid at Work Course Information (FAW)

The First Aid at Work course is designed to train individuals and company staff that require Level 3 regulated first aid at work training to meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (1981) Regulations. This course is a regulated training programme and will provide all the required first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services. It also covers other topics such as COSHH, RIDDOR and other first aid health and safety at work information.

The initial course is delivered over a minimum of 3 days (18 contact hours). The 2 day refresher course covers the complete syllabus and updates any changes to procedures or protocols. 

Certification valid for 3 years.

  • DownHow long does my first aid certificate last?

    Three years. It must be refreshed within 28 days of the expiry date, but the HSE recommend a yearly update of training to keep up to date with latest practices.
